When does Shooting Stars Camp start and end? [back to top]
Shooting Stars Camp starts at 1PM on Sunday. Camp ends at 10AM on Thursday. Please arrange to pick up your camper.

When should campers arrive at Shooting Stars Camp? [back to top]
Please plan to arrive between 1PM and 4PM for registration. Please eat lunch before getting to camp. Our first meal together is mid-afternoon snack.

We will be going to Sun Valley swimming during camp. Also, please bring jeans for horseback riding. Click here for a list of other camp activities.

What should campers bring to Shooting Stars Camp? [back to top]
Rubbermaid tubs work really well instead of a suitcase for your clothes.  They fit under the bunks and keep everything clean and dry. THEY MUST BE NO DEEPER THAN 9” TO FIT UNDER THE BUNK. PLEASE DO NOT BRING LARGER TUBS. WE DO NOT HAVE ROOM TO STORE THEM IN THE CABINS.

Campers should bring the following items (click here for a printable list):

2 pairs STURDY shoes (tennis or walking—not flip flops or slippers)
Underwear
Water shoes (Tevas, water booties, old tennis shoes)
Pajamas
Sleeping bag & pillow
Short pants
Coat
Rain jacket
Long pants (at least two)
6 pair socks
Swimsuit

Dirty clothes bag
Soap & shampoo
Lip salve
Towel & washcloth

Lightweight gloves and thick socks for skating
Toothbrush & toothpaste

Plenty of pump supplies
Bring a copy of your immunization records
Bring (or know your) last A1c result
Optional:
Hat
Camera
Talent show items

If you bring Game Boys, electronic toys, etc., label them carefully. These items are easily lost. (Camp Hodia is not responsible for lost items.) Please keep makeup to a minimum.

The following items are absolutely NOT allowed at camp by any camper or staff. Your participation at Camp Hodia means you agree to this:

Is a gluten free diet available if my child has Celiac Disease? [back to top]
Camp Hodia provides a gluten free diet at all of our programs for kids that have celiac disease. Food is purchased, prepared and stored in a manner that minimizes the risk of gluten cross contamination with other foods. In order to assist us with camp preparation, please mark that your child has celiac disease on the camp registration form (the question about other medical conditions). If you have any questions, please contact the camp director or email us at info@hodia.com.
